Irish comedian Enya Martin has progressed from online content to international success, and is now adding acting to her repertoire. She is appearing at the Galway Comedy Festival (20-26 October) simultaneously as a stand-up performer and as an actress in a new comedy play called The Kavanaghs: Married With Parents, which already has one of its three nights sold out.
The play, co-created by Al Porter and written with Karl Spain, stars Martin alongside Al Porter, Fair City actors Aisling O'Neill and Ryan Andrews, and others. It premiered in Dublin's Civic Theatre in Tallaght with four shows before heading to Galway's Town Hall Theatre. Martin, whose stand-up show Acting the Divil has been touring internationally to great acclaim, is also purchasing her first home after securing mortgage approval and using government support schemes, though she remains living in her mother's box bedroom until the end of the year.
