Two survivors of child sexual abuse are suing Jeffrey Epstein’s estate and its co-executors, accusing the US Justice Department of failing to notify victims whose images may have been found in Epstein’s extensive child sexual abuse material collection. They want the court to require identification and notification, arguing that many people depicted may never have met Epstein and have no way of knowing whether he possessed or distributed their images.

The FBI reportedly reviewed tens of thousands of videos and found hundreds of illegal images, including about 15–20 known items dating from the 1990s. The proposed class action could cover around 40 identifiable victims, while damages could potentially reach $150,000 per victim, per image, per violation; neither named plaintiff knows whether their own images are included, and both are suing under pseudonyms to protect their privacy.
