Australian nu metalcore band Headwreck say their success stems from rejecting the manufactured hype, fake personas and algorithm-driven "consume, consume, consume" culture that dominates much of modern music fandom. Drummer Colby Horton and guitarist/vocalist Jamo Benadie argue that simply being themselves, rather than cultivating a calculated image, has helped them forge a more genuine connection with listeners at a time when audiences are increasingly weary of unattainable, curated lifestyles online.

The Brisbane quartet's latest EP, Attitude Adjustment, reached No.43 on Australia's ARIA album chart, and the band recently completed a sold-out East Coast tour before landing a support slot for Paledusk alongside Knosis and Greyhaven across the UK and Europe, including an appearance at Download festival. Horton described the past 12 months as "surreal", noting the band has shifted from chasing bigger shows and tours to actually living out ambitions pursued for over a decade.
