Vega said she was asked to include unverified footage in a January report on Immigration and Customs Enforcement, mention Vice President J.D. Vance in a report on West Virginia poverty, and describe Iran as outgunned by the US and Israel. She called the latter an administration talking point; CBS News previously rejected her wider allegations as not based in reality. Her departure was part of an overhaul led by editor-in-chief Bari Weiss that also involved the dismissal of several prominent *60 Minutes* staff.
