Acho said that after he rear-ended another driver near the team's practice facility years ago, DiSandro arranged for a replacement police officer to file a report blaming the other driver, and later offered the driver tickets and signed jerseys to smooth things over. The disclosure has drawn criticism, with former Eagles cornerback Asante Samuel accusing Acho of betraying a colleague for podcast attention.

According to Acho's account, he called team security in a panic after the crash, and DiSandro told him to send away the first responding officer so a second one could arrive and record the other driver as at fault. The league is now examining whether DiSandro's alleged actions breached NFL rules or exposed the Eagles to legal liability; DiSandro was previously fined $100,000 and suspended from the sideline in 2023 following an on-field altercation with 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw. Acho has faced separate backlash this year for comments questioning whether Charlie Kirk should be regarded as a hero following his assassination.
