Ex-W.A.S.P. Guitarist CHRIS HOLMES On His Prostate Cancer Battle: ‘The Last Two Weeks I Went Through Probably One Of The Sickest Times I’ve Ever Been In My Life’

Former W.A.S.P. guitarist Chris Holmes has issued a video update thanking fans for donating to a GoFundMe campaign supporting his cancer treatment, revealing that recent hormonal therapy left him severely ill. The 68-year-old, who has lived in Cannes, France, with his wife Catherine since 2014, is undergoing treatment for prostate cancer just four years after being treated for throat and neck cancer, and says the fundraiser has been essential to keeping his care going.

Holmes said the fundraising goal is around 80% met, with roughly 20% still needed, and asked supporters to keep sharing the campaign. He described the past two weeks as among the sickest of his life, with radiation-related side effects worse than his previous chemotherapy. Catherine explained on GoFundMe that an administrative error over their marriage registration left Chris with only "emergency only" health cover, forcing a three-month wait for care, with only July's radiotherapy covered and everything else — including hormone therapy, scans, biopsies and travel — falling to them, leaving the couple around €20,000 in medical debt that continues to grow; Chris must also stay in France to keep receiving treatment, preventing him from travelling or working.
