Coyote vs. Acme will receive a physical Blu-ray release that includes uncut, "not PG-rated" outtakes featuring John Cena, director Dave Green has confirmed to IGN. Speaking at San Diego Comic-Con alongside co-star Lana Condor, Green revealed that Cena's improvised, unscripted moments with Will Forte and the Looney Tunes characters were far too risqué for the theatrical cut, but promised they would appear as a Blu-ray extra. The announcement adds a notable physical-media release to a film with a turbulent history, arriving as such releases become increasingly rare.

Green described Cena as "an amazing improviser" who would keep entertaining background actors even after scenes wrapped, producing "minutes and minutes" of usable but unsuitable footage. Coyote vs. Acme is set for theatrical release on 28 August 2026, having previously been shelved by Warner Bros. Discovery in 2023 as part of a $30 billion tax write-off. The confirmed Blu-ray release stands out amid a wider industry shift away from physical formats, exemplified by Sony's plan to stop producing physical PlayStation discs from January 2028.
