## Key points

- Alex Dunne tested an IndyCar in Alabama as he weighs a 2027 move.
- He was fastest in the morning session.
- He is 18 points behind F2 leader Rafael Camara.

## Summary

Alex Dunne, a 20-year-old Irish driver contending for the Formula 2 title, has completed a test with Dale Coyne Racing at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama. The test comes as he considers a possible move to IndyCar in 2027, with limited Formula 1 seats making his route to F1 less certain.

Dunne set the fastest time in the morning session and said he enjoyed the car, which he found more powerful and had more downforce than he was used to. He has one win and nine podiums this F2 season and is 18 points behind leader Rafael Camara, with rounds in Qatar and Abu Dhabi still to come. Winning the title would rule out another F2 season next year; Dale Coyne Racing has not announced its 2027 drivers.
