The family of Lilly Jones, a 14-year-old schoolgirl found dead in a park in Blaina, Gwent, Wales, have paid tribute to her as "the most beautiful, kind and caring little girl". Her death matters as the subject of a murder investigation, with a 14-year-old boy charged and due to stand trial later this month at Cardiff Crown Court.

Lilly was reported missing and discovered three days later hidden in undergrowth around 500 yards from her home, near Duffryn Park, where floral tributes were left. In their statement, her family said "heartbroken" did not come close to how they felt, describing her as quirky, confident and dramatic, with an eclectic taste in music ranging from My Chemical Romance to Kate Bush, and praised her for advocating for and accepting all types of people.
