Deadline has released the first-look clip from "Father Joe," a Venice Film Festival action-crime title starring Kiefer Sutherland as a priest who takes on organised crime in Manhattan. The film, screening Out of Competition, also features Al Pacino and Ever Anderson (daughter of Milla Jovovich and Paul W.S. Anderson), and marks the latest collaboration between director Barthélémy Grossmann and veteran French filmmaker Luc Besson, who wrote and produced it.

Sutherland plays a "man of faith" who wages a violent campaign against the mob while protecting a young woman caught between danger and redemption, putting him on a collision course with a powerful crime boss. The film is produced by LB Production, Besson's EuropaCorp, and Sutherland himself, with Kinology and CAA handling sales; Besson previously worked with Kinology on "Dracula" and "DogMan," while Grossmann made his English-language debut with the Besson-produced thriller "Disorder." Pacino missed the Venice press conference but sent a video message wishing the cast and crew well for the premiere.
