Fears grow for mother, 20, who was last seen leaving home with her six-week-old baby daughter and walking towards boat ramp
The search for a missing 20-year-old mother and her newborn daughter in Arkansas has entered its third week, with concern mounting after surveillance footage appeared to show her walking into the Arkansas River. Ashlynn Bocksnick was last seen on 25 June leaving a home in Dardanelle, around 80 miles north-west of Little Rock, with her six-week-old baby, Lalynn Dream Williams. The case has drawn attention because police were initially called over a report of a "possible suicidal person" and later found the pair's abandoned vehicle at a boat ramp near the water.
According to the Dardanelle Police Department, officers were called to the home at around 2.50am and discovered that Bocksnick and her daughter had gone. About two hours later they found the vehicle parked at the boat ramp at Veteran's Park by the Arkansas River, but neither mother nor baby was there. A surveillance camera captured Bocksnick pulling in, leaning into the rear passenger side of the car for roughly a minute where the baby's car seat was located, then picking something up and walking towards the water and entering it, though it was not clear whether she was carrying her daughter. Authorities said the object she picked up could not be identified due to the distance from the camera.
