Female chemistry teacher, 65, is found guilty of seven counts of indecent assault against two teenage pupils in the late 1980s
A former chemistry teacher, Sally-Anne Bowen, 65, has been found guilty of seven counts of indecent assault involving two male pupils at Christ’s College, Finchley, in the late 1980s. The case concerns alleged abuse of a position of trust when the boys were aged 14 and 15, and Bowen now faces sentencing.
The prosecution said Bowen had sexual contact with one pupil repeatedly over several months in 1988 and encouraged sexual contact with another. A jury at Harrow Crown Court returned majority verdicts of 10–2 after about six and a half hours of deliberation; Bowen denied the allegations, and had been barred from teaching in December 2023 in connection with the matter.
