## Summary

Gina Fiore says she won more than $15 million from casinos over a 20-year professional gambling career, mainly by using techniques that gave her an advantage at blackjack. Her story is being developed into an HBO series, and her account highlights how players can exploit weaknesses in casino games without necessarily breaking the law.

Fiore, 48, began pursuing gambling full time at 24 after working as a blackjack dealer and learning about card counting. She says hole carding, which involves spotting a dealer’s hidden card, was her most successful method; after scouting for more than 16 hours a day, she estimated that one in 300 dealers exposed their card. She also used edge sorting to identify patterns on card backs, has published a memoir, and says the television character must not cheat or act illegally.
