Female prison officer in sexual relationship with ‘Latvian Pablo Escobar’ convict is jailed for eight months

Daily Mail · 23 hours ago

Jahvine Kwamba, a former prison officer at HMP Fosse Way in Leicestershire, has been jailed for eight months after admitting misconduct involving a sexual relationship with inmate Roberts Sokolovs, who had described himself as the “Latvian Pablo Escobar”. The case highlights the security risks created when prison staff abuse their position of trust and breach professional boundaries.

Kwamba, 21, admitted two counts of misconduct in public office and an offence relating to the unauthorised transmission of an image or sound from prison. The relationship took place between February and June 2024; she also admitted accepting money from the prisoner’s relatives, Venera and Zita Sokolova, during that period.
