Ferret Music, the label that helped shape the hardcore and metalcore scene of the 2000s, has officially relaunched under founder Carl Severson, who has reclaimed the label's name and back catalogue from Warner Music. Once home to influential heavy acts such as Disembodied, The Devil Wears Prada, Ice Nine Kills and Killswitch Engage, the label returns with a stated aim of nurturing and developing a new generation of bands. The move signals a notable revival for a name widely regarded as a benchmark in heavy music.

Alongside the relaunch, Ferret has revealed its first two signings of the new era: BORE from Long Island and Wounded Touch from Michigan, whose members spoke of the label as a lifelong influence and a "holy grail" they had long hoped to join. To mark the rebirth, the label has also issued represses of four catalogue titles: Remembering Never's 'God Save Us' and Torn Apart's 'The Fifty-Ninth Session' from the Ferret catalogue, plus Old Wounds' 'Suffering Spirit' and Racetraitor's 'Creation and the Timeless Order of Things' from Good Fight Music, the imprint Severson has run since his earlier Ferret days.
