A man has died and six other people were injured after a large sign reportedly fell at the Big Church Festival in Wiston Park, West Sussex. Organisers cancelled the remainder of the weekend, underscoring the seriousness of the incident at one of the UK’s largest Christian music festivals.

Police attended on Friday afternoon, where a 41-year-old man was pronounced dead and at least six injured attendees were taken to hospital. The festival, founded in 2009 and due to run until Sunday, said it was devastated; the incident has been reported to the Health and Safety Executive and local authorities.
