## Summary

FIFA has launched an investigation into Argentina's conduct following the World Cup final in New York, after newly emerged footage shed light on what triggered a brawl at the final whistle. The probe centres on ugly scenes that marred the end of the match, which Spain won 1-0, and comes as Argentine players faced criticism for their behaviour both during the confrontation and afterwards.

Details reported around the incident include an Argentina player throwing a punch at a Spanish opponent, and Argentina's players turning their backs during Spain's trophy celebrations. A lip-reader has also claimed to reveal what one furious Argentina player said to winning captain Rodri amid the fracas, while some Argentine media have been accused of downplaying the episode as an "unfortunate isolated incident" despite the scale of the disorder.
