Final Filmed QUEEN Live Performance To Be Screened At London’s Roundhouse Ahead Of Its Release In Cinemas And IMAX
"Queen Budapest", a fully restored film of QUEEN's final live performance, will get a special one-day live event screening at London's Roundhouse on 3 October before its wider cinema and IMAX release. Organised by Playback Live with Sony Music Vision, the screening reimagines the concert film as a live event, with the audience able to stand and experience it like a genuine gig, marking Sony Music Vision's first official QUEEN project.
The footage, captured on 27 July 1986 at Budapest's Népstadion during "The Magic Tour", documents QUEEN becoming the first Western rock band to perform behind the Iron Curtain, with 80,000 tickets sold out and an estimated 45,000 more listening outside. The film has been restored in 4K by Sir Peter Jackson's Park Road Post Production, with remixed audio, and will screen worldwide in cinemas and IMAX from 7 October via Trafalgar Releasing, followed by a multi-format soundtrack release on 30 October, timed to the 40th anniversary of the concert and the band's final tour before Freddie Mercury's death.
