Fire Country and Sheriff Country return for second CBS crossover

Deadline · 2 hours ago

CBS has confirmed that "Fire Country" and "Sheriff Country" will stage a two-hour crossover event on 6 November, uniting the two Friday-night hit shows for a second year running. Showrunner Matt Lopez told Deadline the crossover, comprising the fifth episode of each series, was deliberately scheduled earlier in the season than last year's instalment to allow the story to unfold as one continuous feature-style narrative rather than two disconnected halves.

The crossover centres on a prison break and manhunt during a major windstorm and fire event, forcing Sheriff Mickey Fox (Morena Baccarin) and Fire Country's Bode Donovan (Max Thieriot) to combine resources from their respective agencies. "No Way In" airs 8–9pm ET/PT with guest stars Thieriot, Kevin Alejandro and Jules Latimer, followed by "No Way Out" from 9–10pm ET/PT featuring Baccarin, Matt Lauria, Michele Weaver, Amanda Arcuri and Ian Quinlan. Lopez said the production used extensive practical effects, including explosions, and described the episode as carrying real personal stakes for the characters involved.
