Black Sabbath have announced their first ever authorised official book, titled 'The Masters of Reality – Why Black Sabbath Matter', which will chart the metal band's history from their formation in Birmingham in the late 1960s to their final 'Back To The Beginning' concert in July 2025. Created by photographer and long-time friend of the band Ross Halfin, the 500-page volume features rare photographs and memorabilia, and matters as a definitive record produced with the band's full involvement — including Ozzy Osbourne, who signed the book plates before his death shortly after the farewell show.

The book had been in production two years ago and was due out after the final concert, but was delayed by Osbourne's passing; Halfin said the team felt the time was right to announce it a year on. It will be published in October via Rufus Publications in three editions: a Super Deluxe Signed Metal Edition (£950, limited to 200 numbered copies, each with a plate hand-signed by Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward), a Super Deluxe signed edition (£650), and a Standard Edition (£99). Separately, the article notes Sharon Osbourne's recent tribute to her late husband, plans for a "tasteful" AI avatar of Ozzy, and a biopic about the couple reportedly targeting a 2028 release.
