## Key points

- Famitsu’s first review scores the Switch 2 remake 37/40.
- The 3DS remake received the same score.
- The N64 original earned Famitsu’s 40/40 in 1998.

## Summary

The first review of the Nintendo Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time gives it a near-perfect score, but places it below the original N64 game. The result matters because the original is one of the most highly rated games ever, making comparisons with a new version especially keen.

Japanese magazine Famitsu’s four critics awarded the remake three nines and a ten, for a total of 37 out of 40. That matches the score for the 3DS remake, while the original received Famitsu’s first-ever 40 out of 40 in 1998 and has a Metacritic score of 99.
