Gary Edward Glowacz, 70, has been arrested and charged over the 1987 killing of Melissa Ellison, a 20-year-old mother in Jacksonville, Florida. Police say he contacted the sheriff’s office claiming to have information, then allegedly disclosed unreleased crime-scene details during an interview, leading detectives to seek an arrest warrant nearly four decades after the case went cold.

Ellison was found dead in her bed at her Colejean Road home on 28 December 1987, with injuries consistent with blunt-force trauma. Officers had been called at about 4:40am after her roommates heard her toddler crying in the living room; Glowacz was booked into Duval County Jail on charges of murder and burglary with battery.
