## Key points

- Investigators reportedly found accusations and a threat in phone messages.
- Adenau was shot in the shoulder and taken to hospital.
- Kelly faces charges including attempted first-degree murder.

## Summary

The new report adds that messages recovered from Elijah Baker’s phone allegedly showed Katherine Dale Kelly accusing him of infidelity and threatening to shoot someone before the confrontation. Kelly, 24, has been charged after allegedly firing into Baker’s car in Port St. John, injuring passenger Angel Adenau.

Police say Kelly tracked Baker’s location and took an Uber to meet him at about 1.20am on Saturday, then fired one round through the passenger window, hitting Adenau in the left shoulder. Baker took her for help and she was treated in hospital; Kelly reportedly claimed self-defence and said she was trying to “make a point”. Her next court hearing is scheduled for 24 November.
