Florin Şerban’s anti-Roma racism drama “You Don’t Belong Here” has won the Golden Leopard, Locarno Film Festival’s top International Competition prize. The award highlights the film’s social subject matter and places Şerban among the festival’s major winners, while young star Teodor Butănescu received a special performance mention.

Hong Sangsoo won best director for “Nowhere to Lay My Eyes”, with Kim Minhee sharing the gender-neutral best performance prize with Monica Bellucci for “Ketticè”. Elsewhere, Argentine debut “The Illusion of an Everlasting Summer” won the Filmmakers of the Present Golden Leopard and the first feature award, while “The Riverbank” took the International Competition’s Special Jury Prize.
