Floyd Samba scored twice on his Manchester City debut as his side beat Norwich 5–0 to reach the Carabao Cup last 16, where they will face Brighton. The 17-year-old forward impressed with his movement, finishing and awareness, strengthening his case for future first-team opportunities as City continued manager Enzo Maresca’s perfect start.

City controlled the match after Allan helped create Samba’s opener, while Rayan Cherki added a second before half-time. Allan scored after the interval, Samba completed his double and Ryan McAidoo added a late fifth; Norwich manager Régis Le Bris noted that his team managed six shots on target but conceded five goals.
