Foo Fighters to step in as support act for AC/DC for “one night only”: “This is literally a dream come true. So if you want blood, you’ve got it”

Foo Fighters have been announced as a last-minute replacement support act for AC/DC's St. Louis show on 8 September 2026, part of the rock legends' 'Power Up' world tour. Frontman Dave Grohl called the slot "literally a dream come true", explaining that AC/DC's 1980 concert film Let There Be Rock shaped his approach to live performance from childhood and set the bar for the energy he brings to every Foo Fighters show.

The Pretty Reckless, who have supported AC/DC throughout the tour including its 2025 UK and European dates, are unable to play the Missouri gig, opening the door for Foo Fighters to step in for this single date. The appearance is a rare support slot for Grohl's band, who are otherwise on their own 'Take Cover' stadium tour promoting new album 'Your Favorite Toy'. Grohl described being floored by AC/DC's live intensity as an 11-year-old and said the band remains "single handedly responsible" for his commitment to giving audiences everything on stage.

  • Foo Fighters will support AC/DC for one night in St. Louis on 8 September
  • They're filling in for The Pretty Reckless, who can't play that date
  • Grohl calls it a childhood dream inspired by AC/DC's 1980 concert film
