## Key points

- Prime Video is developing an adaptation of Fourth Wing.
- The story combines dragons, academy peril, politics and romance.
- Michael B. Jordan’s production company is involved.

## Summary

Prime Video is developing an adaptation of Rebecca Yarros’s fantasy novel Fourth Wing, which the article presents as a potential major series in the romantasy genre. Its mix of dragons, military-academy danger, political rivalries and romance could give it broad appeal, though its success will depend on how well it works for both book fans and new viewers.

The story centres on Violet Sorrengail, a reluctant cadet whose intelligence may help her survive a brutal academy, where dragons are dangerous and unpredictable. Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society is producing, with Meredith Averill attached to guide the story. The novel has built a strong online following, while previous adaptations of similar fantasy series, including Throne of Glass and A Court of Thorns and Roses, have stalled in development.
