Worms: The Director’s Cut has received a free expansion to mark the long-running strategy series’ 30th anniversary. The release is notable because it adds new material to a 1997 Amiga version of the game, rather than focusing on a more recent entry in the franchise.

The expansion, titled Backwards Worms: The Director’s Cut, was created by fans and offers 12 new single-player missions, multiplayer maps and additional customisation. It is available as a free download for original Amiga hardware and compatible emulators, continuing a recent trend of anniversary updates for classic games.
