Forget ‘The Odyssey,’ Anne Hathaway’s First Big Movie of 2026 Is Officially a Streaming Sensation
Anne Hathaway's "The Devil Wears Prada 2" has become a major streaming success on Disney+ and Hulu, following its strong theatrical run earlier in 2026. The legacy sequel drew 15.2 million views globally in its first five days of streaming, marking Disney's biggest live-action movie debut since "Deadpool & Wolverine" in 2024, and cementing Hathaway's status as one of the busiest and most commercially successful stars of the year.
The film reunited Hathaway with Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt, updating the original's plot for a modern audience. Despite a mixed critical reception, it turned a reported $100 million budget into almost $700 million worldwide at the box office, pushing the franchise's total earnings past $1 billion. Hathaway's success with the film follows her acclaimed supporting turn as Penelope in Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey," which is also approaching the billion-dollar mark at the box office.
