Jay Feely, who played as a kicker across six NFL teams over 14 seasons, advanced toward Congress by winning an Arizona Republican primary on Tuesday night for a district covering parts of Phoenix and most of Scottsdale. In the three-way race, he defeated former state representative Joseph Chaplik and businessman John Trobough.

Feely's campaign benefited from high-profile backing, including an endorsement from President Donald Trump and financial support from NFL leadership figures, notably Commissioner Roger Goodell. His primary victory represents the next stage toward the general election, where he aims to represent Arizona voters in the House.
