Former VEIL OF MAYA Vocalist LUKAS MAGYAR Announces New SIFYN EP ‘Self-Encrypted’
Minneapolis pop-metalcore band SIFYN, fronted by former Veil of Maya vocalist Lukas Magyar, has released a new single, "Code", alongside the announcement of their forthcoming EP "Self-Encrypted", due out on 4 December. The band blends metal intensity with alternative rock, emo vulnerability and pop-forward melody, and the new material marks what Magyar describes as a bolder, more momentum-driven chapter for the group.
The five-track EP will include "Code", "Sovereign", "Sew Me Up", "Invoker" and "Lexicon", and follows the band's 2022 debut, "Marionette". Founded by Magyar nearly a decade ago, SIFYN now comprises guitarists Mike Green and Dustin Korth, bassist/co-writer Derek Sampson and drummer Avery Frisk, and has developed a genre-blending sound drawing on modern alt-rock, metalcore and early-2000s emo. Unlike their debut, which used fictional characters, "Self-Encrypted" is described as the band's most personal release yet, dealing directly with themes of crisis, identity and personal agency.
