FRANK FERRER On His Exit From GUNS N’ ROSES: ‘Everything Comes To An End’

Blabbermouth · 1 month ago

Former Guns N' Roses drummer Frank Ferrer has spoken publicly about his departure from the band, telling Rolling Stone's Brian Hiatt that his exit after a 19-year tenure was amicable and undramatic. Ferrer, who left the Axl Rose-fronted group in March 2025, said "everything comes to an end" and stressed there was no fight or animosity behind the split. His comments matter because they close the book on the longest-serving drumming stint in the band's turbulent history and confirm a smooth transition to his successor.

Ferrer first joined Guns N' Roses during a show in June 2006 as a temporary fill-in for Bryan "Brain" Mantia, before becoming a full member and recording drums on five tracks of 2008's "Chinese Democracy". His final show with the band was on 5 November 2023 in Mexico, and he has since praised his replacement, Isaac Carpenter, saying the newcomer "locks in" well with bassist Duff McKagan. Ferrer said he holds no expectations or bitterness, expects to reunite with Axl Rose one day, and has continued working on side projects including The Compulsions and his own band, Pisser.
