From Cricket to the Catwalk: Australian Pop Newcomer Oliver Cronin Has Created His Own Piece of ‘Paradise’

Billboard · 1 day ago

Australian pop artist Oliver Cronin, once a talented cricketer tipped for state selection, has instead built a career in music, releasing his new EP "Lost On The Way To Paradise" through Warner Music Australia on 17 July 2026. Raised in Mullumbimby, New South Wales — also home to Amyl and the Sniffers' Amy Taylor and Iggy Azalea — Cronin chose music over sport as a teenager, describing the decision as a matter of committing fully to one pursuit rather than splitting focus between two.

The seven-track EP, which blends pop and R&B, includes previously released songs "Closure," "7500 Miles" and "Eyes Wide Shut," and follows 2024's "Halfway To Paradise" and its 2025 deluxe edition "Edge Of Paradise." Now 24, Cronin signed with Warner Music in 2019 and released his debut EP "Beautiful Nightmare" in 2022, featuring the TikTok hit "Boys Don't Cry"; he has since built a following of 1.1 million on the platform and gained traction in India, the Philippines and Germany. Earlier in 2026 he also made his catwalk debut at Australian Fashion Week, walking in designer Christian Kimber's show.
