## Key points

- Brown’s early move abroad helped shape his route to the Champions League.
- He joined Fenerbahce from Gent in a £7m deal in 2025.
- A three-match ban follows his first red card.

## Summary

Archie Brown’s move from Derby’s youth set-up to Fenerbahce has brought him to the Champions League, where he is set to face Liverpool on Wednesday. The 24-year-old says leaving England early helped him avoid being stuck without senior experience and gave him the chance to grow through new languages and cultures.

Brown moved to Swiss side Lausanne Sport in 2021, joined Gent in 2023 and signed for Fenerbahce in a £7m deal in 2025. The Istanbul club are sixth in Turkey’s league, nine points behind leaders Galatasaray after 10 games, and Brown has played every minute of their Champions League campaign so far. He was recently sent off after a post-match brawl with Galatasaray and received a three-match ban; he says he regrets missing games and hopes to earn a senior England call-up.
