Scots actress Katie Leung, best known for playing Cho Chang in the Harry Potter films, is returning to a supernatural theme by narrating a new BBC horror podcast series called The Haunted Library. The venture sees her lending her voice to classic horror literature, marking a fresh chapter in a career that began when she won the role of Harry Potter's first love interest as a teenager and later appeared in Netflix's Bridgerton.

The Haunted Library launches on 21 September with an adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, with further instalments covering Frankenstein, The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Invisible Man and short stories by Edgar Allan Poe, Bram Stoker and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Leung, 39, joins principal narrator Colin Morgan, known for Merlin, with BBC Studio Audio's Lydia Shamah praising their "exquisite narration". Leung, who grew up in Ayr, Hamilton and Motherwell, has previously spoken about struggling with the sudden fame that came from landing the Harry Potter role aged 16.
