Frozen is a Disney animated film series set in the fictional kingdom of Arendelle. It follows two sisters, Elsa and Anna: Elsa has the power to create ice and snow, while Anna is known for her determination and close relationships with those around her.

Kristoff is Anna’s partner, a mountain man who first appeared in the original 2013 film alongside his reindeer, Sven. Elsa, who became queen of Arendelle, has often had to balance her responsibilities as a ruler with questions about the origin and limits of her powers.

The first two films were major global successes, with their music, characters and stories becoming central to Disney’s modern animation output. A third film therefore returns to an established world while potentially expanding the story beyond the kingdom familiar to audiences.
