## Key points

- FSB says explosive-rigged drone goggles were intercepted.
- The devices allegedly detonated when switched on.
- Authorities did not disclose how many were seized.

## Summary

Russia’s FSB said it had disrupted planned attacks on Russian drone operators after finding explosives hidden in donated first-person-view goggles. The devices were allegedly designed to detonate when switched on, potentially killing or injuring operators; the claims have not been independently verified.

The FSB said the first shipment was found in the Volgograd region, and larger batches sent through Russia Post were intercepted elsewhere in the country. It did not say how many goggles were seized. A criminal investigation has been opened into explosives offences and attempted terrorism, and officials urged army volunteers to inspect donations.
