- Industry figures cite consolidation and longstanding sexism as concerns.

## Summary

Women in Film’s annual honours gala is expected to reflect growing frustration over the recent departures of several senior female executives from major entertainment companies. The dismissals have raised concerns that industry consolidation and job cuts may be accompanied by a return to longstanding sexism.

The Beverly Hilton event will honour actresses Adria Arjona, Salma Hayek Pinault and Gemma Chan, and filmmaker Beth de Araújo. Pam Abdy, recently removed as Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group co-head, will receive the inaugural Vanguard Award; Salma Hayek Pinault will receive the Jane Fonda Humanitarian Award. Cindy Holland and Bela Bajaria were also dismissed from senior roles, with Casey Bloys and Peter Rice taking over their positions.
