Gaga Music, Warp Publishing Strike New Partnership

Billboard · 3 hours ago

Independent Australian publisher Gaga Music and London-based Warp Publishing have deepened their existing relationship into a formal partnership, announced on 31 August 2026 ahead of the BIGSOUND conference in Brisbane. The two firms, which have collaborated since 2017 on cross-representation of each other's catalogues, say the deal is designed to expand global opportunities for songwriters and composers while preserving an independent, artist-focused model at a time when the publishing sector is increasingly shaped by consolidation and outside investment.

Under the new arrangement, Warp Publishing becomes an active partner in Gaga Music alongside founder Grant Gillies, with Warp director Theo Seffusatti and general manager Nadine Riezouw joining Gaga's board. Gaga Music, founded in 2007 and based in Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland, administers over 100,000 titles including works from labels such as Secretly Canadian, PIAS and Thrill Jockey, and is splitting from former partner Inertia Music as part of the change. Warp Publishing, operating for 15 years from London and Los Angeles, represents artists including Danny Brown, Khruangbin and Boards of Canada.
