## Summary

Fandango Sales has acquired all international rights to *Galileo*, a drama-comedy directed by Roan Johnson and starring Elio Germano as the scientist Galileo Galilei. The €8 million film is being presented to buyers at Rome’s MIA Market, with its story centred on Galileo’s conflict with the Roman Inquisition over his support for the Copernican system.

The film’s narrative is described as a stream of consciousness rather than a conventional biography, moving between Galileo’s childhood, his discoveries at the University of Padua, his relationship with Marina Gamba and the choice between faith and reason. Filming began in late September and is scheduled to continue through November; Bibi Film is producing with RAI Cinema and HBO Max’s participation, while Fandango will distribute the film in Italy as well.
