Chelsea have completed a British-record £117m signing of forward Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa, and are now in talks to loan Alejandro Garnacho to Villa with a conditional obligation to make the move permanent. Chelsea were fined £2.6m for breaching UEFA rules, though part of that can be waived if spending is curbed or revenue rises, and this follows a larger £26.7m fine and four-year settlement last summer. The club has already raised more than £120m through sales this window and spent up to £210m, banking on a record £1.3bn squad value and projected revenues of £700m next season to offset parent-company losses exceeding £700m and liabilities topping £1bn. Chelsea are still pursuing further signings, including defensive targets such as John Stones and Maxence Lacroix, while continuing to offload players to stay within Premier League and UEFA financial limits.
