Gary Glitter, the disgraced singer whose real name is Paul Gadd, has pleaded not guilty to eight charges of historical sexual offences against a girl aged between eight and 11. The 82-year-old entered his pleas via video link from prison at Southwark Crown Court, with a three-week trial now set to begin in November 2027. The case is significant given Gadd's history as a convicted child sex offender already serving a lengthy prison sentence for similar crimes.

The charges comprise four counts of indecent assault of a girl under 13, two counts of sexual intercourse with a girl under 13 and two counts of indecency with a child under 13, all relating to the same complainant and alleged incidents between March 1978 and December 1981. Gadd is accused of giving the girl chocolate and inviting her to his West London home, where the offences allegedly took place. The allegations were first reported to police in January last year, and Gadd, initially charged in July, was remanded in custody by Judge Tony Baumgartner. He is currently serving a 16-year sentence following his 2015 conviction for offences against three schoolgirls.
