Paralympic cyclist Daphne Schrager has received a two-year ban after testing positive for Ligandrol, a substance prohibited in sport. The National Anti-Doping Panel concluded that she had not intentionally taken it, but said she had not proved that environmental contamination was the source; the case highlights the strict burden athletes face in explaining positive tests.

The ban is backdated to 2 June 2025 and ends on 1 June 2027, leaving Schrager eligible in principle for the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics, though she has missed England selection for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The 25-year-old, who won silver at Paris 2024 and two Para-cycling Road World Cup golds in May 2025, said the detected amount was 0.0006ng and offered no performance benefit; her previous results have not been disqualified.
