Beth Potter finished second overall in the World Championship Triathlon Series after placing fourth in the final race in Pontevedra, Spain. She needed to win to overtake France’s Olympic champion Cassandre Beaugrand, but Beaugrand’s victory secured the series title and left Potter with silver.

Beaugrand completed the 1.5km swim, 40km cycle and 10km run in 1 hour 50 minutes 52 seconds, more than a minute ahead of Britain’s Georgia Taylor-Brown, with Kate Waugh third. Beaugrand won all five World Championship circuit races she entered, while Taylor-Brown’s runner-up finish followed her first tour victory since 2023.
