Great Britain’s Chantelle Reid and Damar Thomas have reached the European Boxing Championship finals after semi-final victories in Sofia. Reid beat Serbia’s Milena Matovic 3-2, while Thomas defeated Azerbaijan’s Mahammad Abdullayev 5-0, giving both a chance to win gold on Friday.

Callum Makin and Dimeji Shittu also secured medals by winning their quarter-finals, although Makin must still win his semi-final to reach the final. Reid will face Turkey’s Busenaz Surmeneli, Thomas meets Russia’s David Surov, and Shittu boxes Russia’s Cheerav Ashalaev on Thursday; Lauren Mackie and Amy Broadhurst were eliminated.
