George and Amal Clooney have evacuated their home near Brignoles in southern France with their children as fast-moving wildfires threaten the area. In a letter to the town’s mayor, George Clooney said they did not know whether their property would survive, and pledged to help the community recover after the fire.

The fires, driven by a heatwave and strong winds, have also forced around 600 to 700 residents of Brignoles to leave. The Clooneys bought the former wine estate, Domaine du Canadel, in 2021 and have since obtained French citizenship while living in the region.

  • The Clooneys evacuated their French home because of nearby wildfires.
  • Brignoles residents were also forced to leave.
  • The couple pledged support for rebuilding the community.
