Adaleia Cross, a high school student from Bridgeport, West Virginia, has spoken publicly for the first time about being allegedly sexually harassed by a transgender athlete who was at the centre of a US Supreme Court case on transgender participation in women's sports. Following the court's ruling in the West Virginia case, Cross said the outcome gave her a "sense of peace" after years of speaking out, and expressed hope that other girls, including her sister and teammates, would now be protected.

Cross alleges that when both were pupils at Bridgeport Middle School during the 2022-23 school year, the athlete made sexually explicit and threatening comments to her in the girls' locker room. Her mother, Abby Cross, has previously detailed graphic remarks she says the athlete directed at her daughter and other girls. Cross said the atmosphere in the locker room changed after the athlete joined the team, with girls changing in toilet stalls and avoiding the athlete, and claimed some rival teams cancelled attendance at track meets. Fox News is not naming the athlete, who is a minor. Cross also offered a religious message, saying Jesus Christ loves the athlete.
