Glasgow and Ulster play out thrilling draw in URC
Glasgow Warriors and Ulster drew 33-33 in a dramatic United Rugby Championship match at Scotstoun, after George Horne’s late penalty struck the post. The result denied Ulster a first win in Glasgow in more than five years and left both sides with a share of the points.

The United Rugby Championship, or URC, is a professional rugby union competition featuring clubs from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Italy and South Africa. Glasgow Warriors are based in Scotland, while Ulster represent the northern province of Ireland; both compete in the league’s regular season and aim to reach the play-offs.
In rugby union, a try is worth five points, with a two-point conversion kick available afterwards. Referees can temporarily send players off for serious infringements, leaving their teams short-handed; penalties can also be kicked at goal. Teams share the league points when a match is drawn, so the result affects both sides’ standings.
