## Key points

- James Allan says life is good and the band enjoyed making their new album.
- ‘Degüello’ reflects his effort to move beyond bad moods.
- ‘Airy Fairy’ is due on 2 April, before an 11-date tour.

## Summary

New details from Glasvegas’ interview centre on frontman James Allan’s happier life in Glasgow with his family and his renewed focus on making music. He says the band worked together more enjoyably on their fifth album, ‘Airy Fairy’, after frustrations with the engineering process on 2021’s ‘Godspeed’.

The band have shared ‘Degüello’, their first new music in six years, ahead of the album’s release on 2 April and an 11-date UK and Ireland tour. Allan describes the song as a personal attempt to move beyond bad moods and temper, while guitarist Rab Allan suggested it as the lead single; James hopes listeners will find meaning in the songs, which he says grew from everyday thoughts, images and words.
