Glen Hansard’s Public Wake and Funeral Details Announced

Glen Hansard’s family has announced public memorial arrangements in Dublin following the musician’s death in a motorcycle crash. The events will allow fans and members of the public to pay their respects, while the funeral service is expected to draw significant numbers of mourners.

A public wake will take place at the Baroque Chapel at the Irish Museum of Modern Art on 3 August, from 11am to 4pm, with Hansard lying in repose. His funeral will be held at St Patrick’s Cathedral on 4 August at 1.30pm; entry will be limited, but audio will be available outside and the service streamed by RTÉ News and RIP.ie. Hansard was 56, and his family has requested donations to the Simon Community and Ukrainian Action instead of flowers.
